Product Description
Traction transformers are special transformers used in electrified railways to provide electric energy for electric locomotives or EMUs, and are core equipment in the traction power supply system. Their core function is to convert the high voltage of the public power grid (such as 110kV, 220kV) into a low voltage suitable for electric locomotives (such as 25kV single-phase AC) and ensure the reliability and safety of power supply.Based on ordinary power transformers, they are deeply customized for the extreme working conditions and special needs of electrified railways.
Features for Three Phase Traction Transformer
Super strong impact resistance
Frequent overload: When the electric locomotive starts and accelerates, the current can reach 2-3 times the rated value. The traction transformer needs to withstand short-term high-speed operation overload without damage.
Short-circuit tolerance: When the contact network short-circuit fault occurs (such as foreign body overlap), it needs to withstand a short-circuit current of more than 10kA for more than 2 seconds, which is far beyond the standard of ordinary transformers.
Voltage level and wiring characteristics
High voltage side: directly connected to the power grid (such as 220kV), single-phase 25kV output on the low voltage side, three-phase-single-phase conversion must be achieved through V/V wiring or Scott wiring to avoid three-phase imbalance in the power grid.
Harmonic suppression: The locomotive rectifier generates 3rd and 5th harmonics, and the transformer winding adopts phase shifting technology or filter winding.
Extreme environment adaptability
Environmental range:-40ºC to +45ºC wide temperature operation, and anticoagulant needs to be added to the insulating oil.
Anti-fouling design: external insulation creepage distance ≥31mm/kV, suitable for heavily polluted areas such as deserts and coastal areas.
High reliability redundant design
Backup cooling system: when the main cooler fails, the backup oil pump automatically starts.
Online monitoring: built-in optical fiber temperature measurement, partial discharge sensor, real-time warning.
Compact and lightweight
Shell structure: compared with ordinary core transformers, the volume is reduced by 30%.
Aluminum winding replaces copper: 15% weight reduction, but the aluminum welding process problem needs to be solved.
Long maintenance cycle
Fully sealed oil tank: nitrogen protection is used to achieve 10 years of maintenance-free (ordinary transformers need to be inspected once every 5 years).
